How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. How can you make them perfectly? Many different recipes and methods have failed to work for me. So I wanted to share some tips and tricks so that you can make delicious, fluffy omelets every morn.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. Eggs must be purchased fresh, preferably organic, and kept chilled until ready for cooking. They must be kept cool, otherwise the whites will not form properly and the yolks may become runny. Your omelets will look strangely colored if this happens. It is best to use room-temperature eggs if you are going to cook them right away.

You can also separate the egg before you add it to the pan. You don't want any white to get mixed up with the yolk because this could cause the omelet to curdle.

If you add the egg directly onto the stovetop, you might end up burning the bottom part of the egg, which would ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, heat the egg in a microwave for 10 seconds and then place it in a pan. The microwave heat cooks the eggs just right without overcooking them.

Next, let’s talk about mixing the egg. You want to mix the eggs thoroughly before you add them. You need to turn the bowl of the mixer upside down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. This allows the air to be whipped and the egg to be mixed thoroughly.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. First, pour half of the milk into the beaten eggs and then fold the eggs gently into the remaining milk. Do not be alarmed if there are still egg streaks visible. Once the omelet flips, these streaks will disappear.
