In 2018, Roby enrolled in a barbecue cooking course taught by celebrity pitmaster Harry Soo. It was a success that Roby became a qualified pitmaster and she soon started working in a barbecue restaurant.


Her love for barbecue started as a hobby. She eventually became obsessed with the art of barbecuing. In the beginning, she cooked on her back patio. She then went on to compete at barbecue competitions all across the country, where she cooked alongside some of the most renowned pit masters in America. She has opened a number of pop-ups in Dayton, Ohio since then. She hopes to eventually open her own food truck.

Food Network BBQ Team Brawl 3 will feature two of the finest chefs from around the globe competing for the ultimate title in grilling. Anne Burrell will battle Jet Tila, Bobby Flay, and Team Anne in a dinner-party brawl. Matt Roth (BBQ Brawl's favorite) returns as the Austin-based Smokin Beauty owner with Thao.

She has been a star on television shows such as Throwdown with Bobby Flay and BBQ Pitmasters, and has won numerous state and international barbecue championships.


Flay and Symon fought it out for the best barbecue sandwich in another battle. Lee Ann chose a traditional approach to the sandwich while Susie chose an exotic one. Although her pork belly banh mash was innovative, judges were not impressed by its thickness. Team Anne's burger had great flavor and was juicy. It came on a sturdy bun.
